It was 356 BC down in Macedonia,
A boy was born in the town of Pella,
But what he didn't know was what he was gonna' be,
The greatest warrior in history,
Alexander, Alexander, "The Great, The Best"
Conquered lands from the east to the west
united Greece in his ultimate quest,
put the Persian army to the test...
At 13 Aristotle told him what to do,
But Alexander didnt want to get schooled!
But he learned things that would help him rule,
Reading, writing and philosophy too,
At Age 16 he was ready to go,
Quelled a Thracian rebellion just fo sho!
In 336 BC tragedy struck,
His father Philip was killed just for a quick buck,
Being trained from the start he knew what to do,
Prepared to win cause he couldnt lose
Now his father was gone he took the throne,
His army was small but he wasnt alone,
Led 35,000 soldiers in to Persian lands,
With anger in his heart and a sword in his hand,
He first battled at the Granicus River
Broke those enemies like wood into splinters
(Reprise x1)
Beat half a million like a breeze,
Went south to Tyre and started a siege,
Liberated Egypt from Persian rule,
Beat em at Guagmela like downright noobs,
His men got tired and they wanted home,
But they kept on chugging like Rocky on Road,
Burned some palaces down to the ground,
Indian Monarchs all running around,
When he finally went home he was a great king,
20 inch rims on his chariots and his hands on lotsa bling,
But he wasnt happy, that was for sure
Took up drinking (and a lot more)
Malarial fever infected him in June,
Just goes to show what Mosquitoes can do!
Just 32 years and 8 months old,
Alexander froze up like the Arctic zone
Alexander, Alexander The Great, The Best
Now he walks with gods on Mt. Olympus,
But what weve learned from this is war is pretty messed
But watch your back for bugs or theyll lay you to rest.
